Custom interior shades for the whole house
Hunter Douglas sheers, privacy sheers, honeycomb, roller and roman shades, specified for each room, made to measure and installed by the people you meet.
Five kinds of shade, one plan
Sheer shades soften daylight and keep the view. Privacy sheers add light-filtering vanes that open sideways, so a room can go from open to private without losing its glow. Honeycomb shades trap air in cells and are a calm, quiet choice for bedrooms and big south and west windows. Roller shades are clean and flat, good for modern rooms. Roman shades fold into soft pleats and suit rooms with a traditional or relaxed feel.
Whole rooms, not single windows
We work on complete rooms and whole homes, starting at five to six shades, so the fabrics, colours and mounting line up from one window to the next. The shade explorer on our home page shows how each type changes the light in a room.
Measured and installed
Each shade is made to your measurements. We bring samples to the consultation so you can see them in your own windows, then install and walk you through the controls.

Questions we hear
Do you install Hunter Douglas shades?
Yes. We supply and install Hunter Douglas window shades, including sheer, privacy sheer, honeycomb, roller and roman styles, each measured to your window. Hunter Douglas is a trademark of its owner. Aperture & Co. is an independent company, and the brand does not endorse this website.
Which interior shade gives the most privacy?
A fully closed roller, roman or honeycomb shade gives the most privacy. A sheer lets in soft light while you keep the view by day, but at night with the lights on it shows the room, so many homes use a privacy sheer or a layered pair.
How do I handle strong afternoon sun on a west-facing window?
Use a denser fabric on the west side and a lighter one elsewhere. Outside, a screen stops the sun before it reaches the glass, which keeps more heat out than a shade on the inside can. Inside, a honeycomb or roller shade softens what gets through.
Do you do one window at a time?
For interior shades we work on whole rooms and whole homes, and we start at five to six shades. For patio screens we quote by the opening, from one to many.
What happens at the consultation?
We come to your home, ideally at the hour the light bothers you most, hold fabric samples up in your actual openings, and measure. There is no charge for the visit. If it looks like a good fit, we send a written quote.
How long does the project take?
Each screen or shade is made to your measurements after the consultation, so the timeline depends on the product. You get it in writing with your quote.
How much do motorized patio screens cost?
We don't publish prices, because two openings are rarely the same. The price depends on the width and height of each opening, the fabric, the motor and how it mounts. After a complimentary consultation at your home you get a written quote for your project.
